Michael T. Nguyen
Michael is a writer/director living in the San Francisco Bay Area pursuing his career as an independent filmmaker. Having graduated from UC Santa Barbara in Asian American Studies and studying Film Production at City College of San Francisco, he uses his personal work to explore issues of race, sex, gender and class, as it relates to society and culture. He is determined to create films that explore and redefine the meaning and place of the Asian diaspora across America.
An actively creative visonary concerned with the human condition and the relationships between us, Munkey in The City is his first professionally made project.
Katie is a born and raised San Franciscan writer and artist, who earned her BA in Writing and Culture & Communications at Ithaca College. She was active in student organizations such as Asian American Alliance and Adoption Support & Awareness Alliance. She helped found Ithaca’s Pan Asian American Film Festival, and is now working on her MA in Asian American Studies at San Francisco State University.
Through both visual and written forms of art, she hopes to engage audiences in defining and redefining meanings of identity, language, and community.
Janet is an artist/creative professional whose work history includes 10+ years as a pre-production researcher at Lucasfilm Ltd. and Industrial Light & Magic. Her experience includes casting, costumes, location, and production design research for film and TV. She earned her MFA in Fine Arts at UC Berkeley, and her experimental, collaborative work has been discussed in publications such as Women, Art and Technology, among others.
Janet's love for the stories that clothes tell translates to her passion for costuming and wardrobe expression. You can find her immersed in various clothing-mad activities, such as drooling over extreme haute couture magazines and designing and creating wearable art.
Angela is a writer/director and multifaceted filmmaker who loves telling honest, poetic, and visually rich stories of complex flawed connections. She studied film at the University of Texas where her two thesis films MISTER CUPCAKES and BY JUDE won numerous awards and premiered at festivals such as Tribeca, SXSW, and Austin Film Festival.
In 2011, Angela was recruited by BAMM.tv to develop and direct a cable program that was distributed internationally for Taiwan’s largest telecommunications company. She is a proud fellow of Visual Communication’s 2014-2015 Armed With A Camera Fellowship, which funded her short, CONVERSATIONS. Her premiere feature film, TRIAD OF US, is the recipient of the ITVS Diversity Development Fund.
Sienna is a producer specializing in creative development and production management with Emergence Films. Her completed films are ONCE UPON A TIME IN VIENNA, BIRTHDAY BOY, which was Executive-Produced by Jean-Marc Vallee (director of DALLAS BUYERS CLUB), and the acclaimed YouTube web series IF AARON SORKIN HAD WRITTEN... She is currently developing a female-driven Western called FOLLOW THE RIVER, as well as a relationship drama called TWOSOME.
Sienna is also an active member of iWe, a group focusing on gender balance inside the entertainment industry. She is also the content producer of the YouTube channel for Anna Akana, and has produced the short film LOOSE ENDS that is currently on the festival circuit.
